Flag Football FAQ
What are the costs to play for Spirit NFL Flag? For the Spring 2025 season, the fee is $115. This is a one-time expense that covers uniform, flag belts and flags, a mouthpiece, equipment, practice fields, league fees, and game officials.
What are the grade divisions? PreK/K, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th Grade of the Current School year.
How are teams formed? Players can request to play for former team coaches and with their friends. If possible, other players are assigned/placed on teams with like grade groups from the same school.
How many players are on each team? Each team will carry 10 players. (possibly 11 if there is a reason)
Will my player play? Spirit NFL Flag has playing time policies in place for all games. Coaches will discuss specifics in a parent meeting.
How long does the season run? We start practice the week of March 31, 2025 and plan to play through June 21, 2025.
When, where, and how often do we practice/train? We utilize Spirit Field and LaVista Middle School for practices on weekdays. Coaches will determine the exact times.
What can I expect from practice? Fun and Teamwork are stressed! We will also teach technique and fundamentals through drills and game simulation.
What if my player plays other select sports? Most if not all of our athletes are Multi Sport athletes. FLAG is a "Supplemental Sport" you fit in your schedule. We do our best to work with everyone's schedules.
Where and who does Spirit NFL Flag play? We play in the Sarpy County Youth Flag League and are the current Directors of the league. These games will take place at Spirit Field, LaVista Sports Complex, American Heroes Park, and the Papillion Landing. We play teams for Papio Rec, LaVista Rec., BJSA, Plattsmouth, Louisville, and Springfield.
